Our Story
For those in our community who’ve followed Deliciously Ella for a while, you’ll have seen our range of Oat Bars grow over the years. From the very first recipes we created in our kitchen to the bars now tucked away in your kitchen cupboards, they’ve become such a core part of what we do at DE.
This week marks the launch of our newest addition to the range - our Ginger Spiced Oat Bar.
When we first started talking about creating a gingery bar, we knew exactly how we wanted it to feel: warming, comforting, and full of flavour, with just the right balance of spice and natural sweetness from the dates. Simple in theory, but getting there took some time.
Over the past year or so, we’ve tested countless versions of this recipe. A little more ginger here, a little less cinnamon there, experimenting with different spice blends, and adjusting the sweetness until everything felt just right.
One of the things, we love most about creating new products is seeing an idea gradually come to life. More often than not, the first stages happen gathered around the Team DE kitchen table, chatting through ideas over endless cups of tea.
Our product development team are incredibly in tune with our community too. We regularly ask over on Instagram which flavours you’d love to see next, and those conversations genuinely help shape the direction we take. Hearing directly from you makes all the difference.
From there, the experimenting begins. We test flavour combinations in the kitchen before creating small trial batches in the DE factory. Once those samples are ready, they make their way straight back to the office where the whole team gets involved in tasting. Every detail gets discussed - the texture, the spice balance, and even how satisfying the first bite feels.
The final bar blends warming ginger with cinnamon and naturally sweet dates, all wrapped up in the soft, chewy texture our oat bars are known for. It’s the kind of snack we’ve found ourselves reaching for alongside a mid-afternoon coffee.
Seeing a product go from an idea scribbled down in the Team DE kitchen to something sitting on shelves - and eventually finding a place in your kitchen cupboard - never gets old for us.
