Harissa is an amazing, aromatic North African paste, which I add to everything from dips to dressings, tray bakes, soups and stews. It’s an easy way to instantly liven up any meal. It is traditionally made with dried guajillo chillies, but these aren’t easy to find in mainstream supermarkets, so we’ve skipped them in this recipe.
Ella’s Tips
Harissa should have a spicy kick, but you can tone it down to make it more family friendly. Just swap the chillies for half a red pepper. I add harissa to the cauliflower and cashew pilaf tray bake, and the piri piri tray bake.
